Mrs. Steeves teaches Music to every student in the school. She also teaches Social Studies to 6A and French to grade 5 and 6. She has taught at Brentwood School since it opened in 1980! Mrs. Steeves also conducts the Primary, Junior, and Senior Choirs and looks forward to the annual Remembrance Day Program, Christmas Concert, and the Grade Six Year End Musical.

Mrs. Steeves and her husband, Bruce, have four children, all of whom attended Brentwood School! Sarah, who is now 24, attends the University of Toronto and is completing a Doctorate of Musical Arts. She also plays cello in Sinfonia Toronto. Christopher, 22, is completing a Bachelor of Science at the York University when he isn’t training for an upcoming figure skating competition at the Mariposa International Training Centre in Barrie, Ontario. Timothy is in his second year at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is completing a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance.  Patrick (pictured to the left as “Billy Bones” in the 2004 Grade 6 production of Treasure Island) is in grade 12 at Strathmore High School. He plays the viola and piano, works at the Strathmore Aquatic Centre, reads a lot, and loves to play computer games. He hopes to attend University to become a teacher!

Before becoming a teacher, Mrs. Steeves was an avid athlete! She swam competitively for many years and lifeguarded for seven summers! Mrs. Steeves has three University degrees from the University of Western Ontario and the University of Calgary. Her favourite teacher was Mr. Edwards. He was her high school music teacher.

Mrs. Steeves’ favourite season is summer and she loves to travel!
